The 5 Themes of Human Geography
1. Use and think about maps and spatial data sets.
2. Understand and interpret the implications of associations among phenomena in places.
3. Recognize, interpret at different scales the relations among patterns and processes.
4. Define regions and evaluate the regionalization process. (Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America, Africa)
5. Characterize and analyze changing interconnections among places.
Mr. Snyder, an APHG teacher in Florida, has a very detailed explanation of the 5 Themes here:

Learning Goal: Students will be able to critically analyze, investigate, research, and define the social and economic advantages and disadvantages of hydraulic fracturing.
Language Goal: Students will create and present original online research projects about the advantages and disadvantages of fracking.
FRACKING RESEARCH PROJECT
You and your partner's task is to design and implement an original research project about fracking:
Your project should be done on either:
1) Prezi or 2) Google Slides.
Your project must include:
- A brief history of fracking (4 to 5 sentences)
-Be a minimum of 10 slides long.
-5 of the biggest dangers of fracking.
-3 theoretical advantages to fracking.
-A list of at least 6 states where fracking occurs.
-include MINIMUM 7 pictures.
-A list of the 6 of the biggest fracking companies.
-A map that shows where fracking happens in either Colorado or the USA.
-Explicit discussion on North Dakota: What's that state's current condition? How has fracking impacted and changed that state?
-How much money does Colorado make from fracking?
This project is worth 50 points, test grade. We are in the computer lab today and tomorrow. Presentations start on Monday!
Include a verdict written like so:
